1 Introduction, apologies and substitutions
2 New petitions
2.1P-04-532 Improving specialised neuromuscular services in Wales
The Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to write to:
· the Minister for Health and Social Services; and
· all Local Health Boards
seeking thier views on the petition.
2.2P-04-533 Environmental Planning for Small Scale Wind Turbine Sites
The Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to write to the Minister for Housing and Regeneration seeking his views.
2.3P-04-534 A campaign to secure CARDIGAN HOSPITAL
The Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to write to:
· the Minister for Health and Social Services; and
· Hywel Dda Health Board
seeking their views on the petition.
Joyce Watson AM agreed to provide the Committee with a copy of recent correspondence received in her capacity as Assembly Member, which relates to the issues in the petition.
3 Updates to previous petitions

3.3P-04-430 Proposed closure of Tenby Minor Injuries Unit
3.4P-04-431 Against Health Cuts from the Residents of Pembrokeshire
3.5P-04-455 Save Prince Phillip Hospital A&E
The Committee considered correspondence on the petitions and agreed to:
- close the Tenby Minor Injuries Unit petition, but to write to Hywel Dda Health Board seeking clarification on the new service provision in relation to the need to be registered with a GP;
- seek the petitioner’s views following the Minister’s statement on the neonatal unit at Glangwili; and
- at the petitioner’s suggestion defer further consideration of the Save our Services petition until the outcome of the judicial review.
3.6P-04-502 Wellbeing Centre for Wales
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to await the petitioners’ response to the Minister’s letter.
3.7P-04-385 Petition regarding balloon and lantern releases
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to:
- write to the Secretary of State asking for a reply to the Committee’s original letter;
- inform Antoinette Sandbach AM of progress on the petition given her interest in this area.
3.8P-04-445 Save our Welsh cats & dogs from death on the roads
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to:
· keep a watching brief until the review of the current regulations; and
· forward to the Minister copies of all responses received from the petitioner and stakeholders during the consideration of the petition to help aid the review.
3.9P-03-263 List Stradey Park
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to:
· close the petition in light of the Minister indicating that there is little further that can be done; and
· write to Carmarthenshire County Council expressing concern over their response to the Committee.
3.10 P-04-509 Save the Welsh National Tennis Centre
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to seek the views of Cardiff City Council on the proposals and participation model outlined by Tennis Wales and whether they would be prepared to consider working with Tennis Wales in the way suggested in their letter to the Committee. Committee Members also indicated that they would, if neccesary, be available to facilitate a meeting with Swansea Tennis Centre.
3.11 P-04-365 Protect buildings of note on the Mid Wales
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition. Although the Brecon Beacons National Park (BBNP) Committee were scheduled to consider local listing of the site on 7 February, it was understood that this had now been deferred by a month. The Committee agreed to write to BBNP asking for an update on the position.
3.12 P-04-397 Living Wage
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to seek an update on progress after the Workforce Partnership Council has considered the matter in March.
3.13 P-04-446 Business Rate Relief for Welsh Charity Shops
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to seek the petitioners’ response and await confirmation from the Minister of the action she proposes to take.
3.14 P-04-475 Wanted - Buses for Meirionnydd
3.15 P-04-513 Save the Wrexham/Barmouth X94 bus service
3.16 P-04-515 Increase Funding for Welsh Bus Services
The Committee considered correspondence on the petitions and agreed to carry out a short ‘inquiry’ on this matter.
3.17 P-04-498 To get Wales educated
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to close the petition as no response had been forthcoming from the petitioner.
3.18 P-04-499 Kick Start The Welsh Language Curriculum
The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to;
· ask the Minister for his response to the petitioner’s further views; and
· forward the petitioner a copy of the transcript of the recent debate held in Plenary and a copy of the First Minister’s written statement of 3 February.
4 Motion under Standing Order 17.42 (ix) to resolve to exclude the public from the meeting for the following business:
